Trip to Hawaii

“Hawaii is a unique state. It is a small state. It is a state that it's by itself. It is different from the other 49 states. Well, all states are different, but this one has a particularly unique situation.”

Waikiki Hawaii We went to Hawaii on December 19, 2004 for a one week vacation. We spent Christmas in Honolulu, which is the capital and most popular of the islands. We went there to celebrate our second honeymoon. We were supposed to go after our wedding, but my husband couldn't take time off from work. Anyway, we had a lot of fun. We had an activity for everyday to enjoy and explore the whole island of Hawaii. The first day of our trip we went to Pearl Harbor to visit the memorial constructed by Elvis Presley. We saw all the names engraved of all the Americans who died during the attack of the Japanese in WW II. I felt goose bumps when I saw the battleship underwater. It was unbelievable but it truly happened. Then in the afternoon we visited the Battleship Missouri where Japan surrender their troops; my husband showed his muscles in some of the pictures we took. After the first day I got really tired and felt dizzy. Guess what? I was five months pregnant with our first baby. The second day we rode the submarine to explore the underworld of Hawaii but it was raining that time. I never got scared because I just wanted to experience how it felt to go under the sea. On the 3rd day we rode the bus for a tour of the whole island. We passed by the Dole company and saw mountainous volcanoes including the North Shore. We also visited the Polynesian Center to watch different performances by native tribes. We also visited the Hawaii temple of Latter Day Saints. It was a beautiful place. I met a lot of missionary sisters. We took a lot pictures but I can’t post all of them here. Sorry. On the 4th day we went to ride a boat for another trip to watch the whales and dolphins. Well, we only saw the dolphins but there was no whale. We were very disappointed because everyone in the boat was vomiting. Never ride the boat to watch dolphins in Hawaii! You won’t enjoy this experience because you'll only see people vomit all around you with sea sickness. That was the most disgusting thing I ever saw. Plus, the tourist campaigns never say how badly everyone will be affected by sea sickness on these kinds of trips. On the 5th day we went to Hanauma Bay. The beach is beautiful and is the best beach I have ever seen. There are a lot of different fish and different people from around the world. It looked so nice that people were smiling and happy to be in that place. That’s what they called a real paradise. We had a lot of fun! fun! fun!
